Mike Vax

I was fortunate to share the stage twice last week (March 4-5) with legendary jazz trumpeter Mike Vax. Tuesday night was at West Texas State University with WTAMU music faculty Nick Scales (bass) and Dr. Susan Martin (drum set). I played piano with Mike the next night at Burberry’s downtown. The first set was with the big band and the second was a small group with Terrance McDaniel (drums) and Dave Fike (bass) comprising the rhythm section. In addition to Mike playing several people sat in as well. Thank you to all who came and were involved.
