Thanks to everyone who came to the first June Jazz of the 2010! It’s great to see so much support for the arts, particularly jazz, in Amarillo. Thank you Dr. Laughlin for giving The Fakebooks the opportunity to perform. I look forward to hearing the other groups during the upcoming weeks.

Avant Garde Project

The Avant Garde Project is a series of recordings of 20th-century classical, experimental, and electroacoustic music digitized from LPs whose music has in most cases never been released on CD, and so is effectively inaccessible to the vast majority of music listeners today.

You will need to download a bit torrent program like http://www.utorrent.com/ so that you can download the music.

There is a lot of music on this site so it’s difficult to know where to start, especially if you’ve never heard of some of these artists.
